On behalf of the organiser team of the Budapest International Model United Nations it is my great honour to invite you to the third annual session of the conference taking place in Budapest, the capital city of Hungary. Hungary’s largest conference will be held between 12th and 16th April, 2013.
The Model United Nations program was established more than half century ago by the students of Harvard University. Since the first session was held the popularity of this event has been growing. Nowadays hundreds of conferences are taken in almost every country of our world. During the conferences the delegates have an opportunity to get into a role of diplomats representing a particular country and debating on the current issues concerning millions or billions in the world.
The last two years since the conference was established it hosted more than 600 high school delegates from four different continents and vast of counties. The fact that more than every second student of our school (which means more than 400 people) participated may show the success of the conference. The feedback inspired us to broaden the conference that is why we have decided that university students are also welcome to this event with some special commissions such as the Security Council, the Economical and Social Council and the International Court of Justice.
The conference hosted by Eötvös József Secondary School, one of the most prestigious gymnasiums of Hungary, where the committee sessions take place. Beside this, the delegates will have an opportunity to try how it feels debating as real politicians in the illustrious House of Parliament during the opening ceremony. On the last day each delegate has an opportunity to share their point of view with hundreds of delegates at the General Assembly. After this we organise a closing ceremony be held in one of the most prestigious theatre of the city.
Besides the professional part of the conference we would like to ensure a memorable stay in Budapest with different semi-formal and spare-time activities. During our session the delegations have an opportunity to know the capital of Hungary, also take part in a diplomat soiree and an official party, where they can meet each other and build international relations and friendships.
In order to ensure that during your stay in Hungary you do not suffer any inconveniences, we provide a Hungarian supervisor to each delegation. Their duty will be to lead and fulfill all the demands of a delegation during the whole conference from the moment of landing until the moment of departure. They will be available at any time before and during the conference; therefore the only thing that is left for the delegates is to enjoy the conference.
